Dear John, Sadly some sailmakers do not keep up with classes. We have made sure that the class rules are easy to find but the sailmaker has to do it. Using existing patterns is just easy. Hope the sails are OK thought. Best regards David

With the original wooden boats, the hull panels were not strong enough to stand on, so hence floor boards. GRP boats were build to varying specifications. Some would be strong enough, others maybe not so. It is difficult to know without seeing the boat. It is not possible to buy new floorboards off the shelf. A competent woodworker/boatbuilder would be able to use to old ones as patterns for new boards. If you do not want to use floorboards, then foam floor battens could be fitted and glassed over. Dear all, Please do not use anything from the past handbooks. The rules, available on this website, are the current rules and over ride anything previously published. The sails are now measured in accordance with the Equipment Rules of Sailing which can be found on the World Sailing website. The ERS is invoked in the class rules at the beginning of section C. The reason why some words are in bold is that these have specific definitions in the ERS. Mainsail cross widths are measured from the appropriate points on the leech to the nearest point on the luff. Leech points are found by folding with the battens removed. The sail loft may place an IHC (In House Certification) Label on the sail to state compliance, or the sail may be checked by any class approved or RYA sail measurer. Best regards.
